Our Story

I have always loved candles but after noticing black soot from most candles that I bought, I did some research and learned that paraffin wax releases toxic chemicals into the air while burning. That is one of those things that you cannot know and just ignore. Research led me to safer, clean-burning soy wax and I ordered supplies with a plan of making candles that I could enjoy and maybe give a few away as gifts.

Life got busy and my candle making plan went to the wayside. Life also decided to throw a curveball our way. My 23-year-old daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumour in October 2016 and underwent brain surgery.

During her recovery period the holiday season was upon us. We were looking for things to keep us busy and thought about making some handmade gifts. I remembered the candle making supplies and dug them out. We made candles for gifts for family and friends and everybody loved them and wanted more. Four Wishes was born - the name is inspired by my four wonderful children.

My amazing daughter has recovered and moved on to her passion which is medicine. She is currently in medical school in Ireland.
